I'm at a loss as to who Abi Titmuss is. I've seen her and her pendulous breasts on various media snippets... but I don't know how she got there on my TV. Good luck to her though... whatever it is she does

Abi Titmuss.
by Englishman inhl and i are very good friends with her aunt.
yet she's incredibly embarrassed about abi.. interestingly, abi's father is very proud of her.
i wonder how many dad's would feel like that about their daughter?.

Crazy reasons why people became JW's...
by misspeaches indo any of you have any amusing stories as to why some people becames jw's?.
personally... when we were just little tikes my mum was organising a birthday party for my sister.
she invited the neighbours boys around and they weren't allowed because they were a jw family.

I knew a guy who became a JW because he really wanted to get on the platform and give talks. He was something of a show off and an Elvis fanatic and thought he was a born entertainer. Unfortunately he wasn't the sharpest knife in the box. When he did eventually give talks they were crap cos he had the reading ability of a slow 6 year old but the best thing about them was he ended them by saying 'thank you very much' in his best Elvis impersonation.

I posted a topic on the charity law issue a while ago

It's intersting to see what the WTS came up with to keep in line with the new guidelines. I suggested in my topic that if enough people wrote to the govn't that JW's weren't for the public good there might be an enquiry into JW's activities and motives.

When I realized that demons are nothing but mankinds way of trying to explain evil mysteries to itself, the fear went away
I rid myself of the fear of demonz the same way Jenniebeanz
It's not so long ago that children with deformaties or people with epilepsy were thought to be demon possessed. As knowledge about the world and the universe around us grows so belief in demons will subside.... hopefully.

I go for a cycle ride out into the country. It's a great de-stresser and when you're stood on top of Otley chevin you feel like you're the only person on earth.

Do not eat blood nor pork
by Bryan inso the bible says not to eat blood, so the witnesses refuse blood transfusions.
the bible also says not to eat pork.
so why do witnesses eat pork?
-
New Worldly Translation
After reading a bit about the pagan origins of christianity I believe the blood reference could be to distance the christians from Mithraism, Attis, Adonysus & Horus worship which were forbears of christian doctrine. In all those religions blood (bull and lamb) was used in certain ceremonial rites including baptism and also in eating the flesh and blood of the animal in praise of that god. Interestingly the christians kept a lot of the essence of the pagan rites - 'washed in the blood of the lamb' and the eucharist or last supper where bread substitutes flesh and wine blood in praise of jesus.

Hi PaulJ!
Welcome to the board
I've never been in the congs you mentioned. I've been in Leeds & Harrogate congs but my local assemblies were at the East Pennines assembly hall at Hellaby near Rotherham. Don't know if you ever went there maybe?
